Dunkelkammer
Light installation at the Bunker of Art
The installation “Dunkelkammer” (ger. “dark room”) produces unique photographs of light refracted through water. The liquid lenses, project caustic patterns that are captured as photograms on UV-sensitive paper.
The installation translates the technical principles of photography into both a captivating play of light and one-of-a-kind analog prints. The works are produced in real time, allowing the audience to follow the process in a lab like atmosphere.
"Dunkelkammer" is based on a technical and historical research into photography, lenses, and analog light-printing processes.
